G1N/G1XN

| A: |
In the G1N/G1XN, all 20 drive sounds have been redesigned. Based on sophisticated analysis using detailed impulse response and frequency response data, sonic aspects such as distortion harmonics, gain setting range, and tracking of picking nuances have been further improved. In addition to nine patches simulating the sound of rock legends, 21 preset patches produced under the supervision of popular modern guitarists such as Michael Amott, Kiko Loureiro, and Richie Kotzen are also available.

Yes. All basic parameters that determine sound quality, such as 24-bit/96 kHz A/D/A conversion and ZOOM original DSP chip ZFX-3 with 32-bit processing for effect algorithms are the same as in the G2/G2.1u. However, effect module configuration, number of effect parameters, effect parameter setting range and other aspects are different. The G1N/G1XN also does not have a dedicated line recording modeling algorithm.
| A: |
No, the G1N/G1XN does not incorporate a modeling algorithm for line connection. When using a line connection, you should use the cabinet simulator to add a speaker cabinet sound.

All drive effects such as overdrive, distortion, fuzz are produced by amplifying input signal. (not only ZOOM products) Therefore, a very little noise in guitar signal which comes from guitar pickup or guitar cable will be amplified together. To minimize noise level, please adjust ZNR parameter properly.

The patch change speed of the G1N/G1XN is on the order of 30 milliseconds. Due to differences in microprocessor power, the ultra-high patch change speed like the G1u/G2 cannot be achieved.

To change patches with the foot switches, the G1N/G1XN must be in play mode. Set the Module selector to ''PLAY''.
| A: |
Yes, this is possible. If you set the patch selection mode to "pre-select", the sound will not change until you confirm the selection. This is useful when changing to a patch at a far removed memory number during a live performance. For details, see the section "Changing the Way Patches Are Called Up" on page 18 of the Operation Manual.

Use the ''PATCH LEVEL'' parameter to adjust the volume to a suitable level for each patch. For details on the ''PATCH LEVEL'' parameter, see page 21 of the Operation Manual.

Due to limited DSP resources, the rhythm function and reverb effects cannot be used simultaneously. While a rhythm pattern is playing, reverb effects are temporarily disabled.

Connecting the Foot Switch FS01 allows you to switch the patch bank and to perform tap tempo input for the rhythm pattern.
* The G1XN does not have a connector for the Foot Switch FS01.

Connecting the Expression Pedal FP02 allows you to control any effect parameter in real time. While playing your guitar, you can not only adjust volume, pedal wah, and pedal pitch with your foot, but you can even control the gain of distortion effects, the modulation rate, and the delay/reverb mix amount.
| A: |
No, this is not possible. When you release the Expression Pedal, the volume level will be zero.
| A: |
Yes. Turning the VALUE knob in play mode adjusts the G1N/G1XN output volume (MASTER LEVEL). For details, see page 9 of the Operation Manual.
| A: |
No, this is not supported. When the unit is turned off, the settings for rhythm function pattern/tempo/level revert to the default condition.
| A: |
Yes, this is no problem. The batteries will not be used up in this case.
| A: |
It is designed to alert the user that the batteries will soon be exhausted and should be replaced as soon as possible.

Testing has shown that the unit will operate properly with such batteries, but depending on the charge status and usage conditions, battery performance may not be optimal, and correct operation is not assured. ZOOM recommends the use of 1.5 V alkaline batteries.
* Battery life will differ according to the charge status of the rechargeable batteries. When the battery alert appears, you should change the batteries as soon as possible.
