No, it isn't. Although original rhythm pattern cannot be created by PS-02 itself, it is enable to create pattern freely by using the rhythm track RT-323. As PS-02 and RT323 have compatibility of pattern data, your original rhythm pattern can be played on PS-02 by exporting the rhythm pattern created by RT-323 to PS-02. In addition, the newest rhythm pattern can also be downloaded freely from our website. Please try.

Although odd meter is not contained in the factory preset pattern. However, you can use it on PS02, after importing the pattern data created by RT-323. Please see above Q&A.

Problem is the setting of Windows. When Windows does not show system files, by its setting, three system files of recovery data are not displayed. Therefore you cannot copy them onto the SmartMedia. By changing the setting of Windows, shows all files and folders. Please refer Windows help how to change setting, since several methods are available for each Windows version. If you will change setting, you can find 9 files as recovery data. Copy all files to SmartMedia, then PS-02 will be working right away.

There are 2 ways.
1) Import data to DAW software. Audio track can be converted to WAV/AIFF file and rhythm data can be converted to SMF format (Standard MIDI file), by using the software "Card Manager" that you can download freely from our website. 2) Import audio signal Connect PS-02 output to line input of the computer, play the song and record it to computer as stereo audio signal. Both Windows and Macintosh come equipped with the software that can record audio signal. Please refer your computer's help. If your computer has no line input, as like notebook computer, please use USB audio interface that allows you to record audio signal as same as line input.

2. DAMAGE OF DATA

The system files that were on the supplied SmartMedia card can be obtained for free from the download page on our web site. First you must purchase a generic SmartMedia card and format it in the PS-02. Then copy the system files to the card. This will result in a card that can be used in the same way as the original SmartMedia card that came with the unit.
* To copy the files, use a commercially available SmartMedia card reader/writer.

Before using your CD writing software, you must convert the sampling frequency to 44.1 kHz which is the standard used for CD audio. Use a freeware waveform editor or other suitable software to convert the sampling rate.
If you use the CD writing function of Windows Media Player, the sampling frequency conversion step is not required. To use Windows Media Player, proceed as follows.
Windows Media Player 9
1. From the File menu, open the "Copy" submenu and select "Copy to Audio CD".
2. Drag and drop the audio data into the "Items to Copy" area.
3. When you click the "Copy" button, a wizard screen comes up. Follow the on-screen instructions to write the CD.
Windows Media Player 10
1. From the File menu, open the "CDs and Devices" submenu and select "Burn Audio CD".
2. Drag and drop the audio data into the "Burn List" area.
3. When you click the "Start Burn" button, a wizard screen comes up. Follow the on-screen instructions to write the CD.

The built-in mics may pick up physical vibrations such as very low frequencies as distortion. When setting up the PS-02, avoid locations that will be subject to strong vibrations such as near speakers or a drum set. It may also be advisable to place the unit on a soft cloth or similar, to reduce the influence of vibrations.
