New Product Announcement: Zoom ARQ AR-48

New Zoom ARQ AR-48 Offers 460 Synths, Built-In Drum Machine, Seamless Sequencing, and More

All-in-one production and live performance instrument for new and experienced electronic musicians

October 9, 2017 — Zoom North America today unveiled the new ARQ AR-48 AeroRhythmTrak, an all-in-one production and live performance instrument that offers new and experienced electronic musicians a fun, easy way to craft electronic music.

The AR-48 is comprised of a Base Station and Ring Controller. Together, these two pieces create a unique and innovative instrument that allows musicians to create beats and sequences as well as perform in new and exciting ways.

The Base Station, which serves as the AR-48’s main unit, is laid out in four distinct zones: Sound, Sequence, Rec/Play, and Effect. Here, musicians can access 460 synth, percussion, and vocal sounds, three sub-oscillators, and a synthesizer to start creating their music. The Base Station also includes an SD card slot where they can load their own samples.

Musicians can edit sound sequences, resample using audio capture, record motion sequences, and auto-save their work. The AR-48 is equipped with 16 Master effects with adjustable parameters that can be used in real-time during live performances or recording sessions.

The ARQ’s loop-shaped Ring Controller features 16 pressure-sensitive with aftertouch which allow musicians to easily play onto the Ring’s surface and record sequences in real-time. Additionally, each pad has its own programmable multi-color LED, allowing musicians to create a visual layout for each instrument they use in a sequence.

Since AR-48 is also a live instrument, musicians can use it to perform the music they've created. They can play and remix their music, play live over their patterns and sequences, or use the MIDI out to control external synths and instruments.

An optional Bluetooth connector lets musicians remove the Ring Controller from the Base Station to create more visually expressive performances.

The Zoom ARQ AR-48 will be available in stores this fall.
