Zoom announces new "Acoustic Creator" series

Zoom’s New Acoustic Creator Series Offers Guitarists Tone Restoration,  Sound Remodeling, and Effects

With new enhanced DI devices, Zoom gives guitarists
control over their acoustic sound.

“Your Acoustic Sound — Re-imagined.”

June 6, 2017 — Today Zoom Corporation is unveiling a new product series called “Acoustic Creator." The new Acoustic Creator series features the recently released Zoom AC-2 as well as an upcoming product called the Zoom AC-3.

Similar to the AC-2, the AC-3 is an enhanced direct box that offers exceptional tone restoration for acoustic guitar players. In addition, it features acoustic sound remodeling and multi-effects for performance and recording. As an all-in-one direct box, sound remodeler, and effects pedal, the AC-3 gives guitarists everything they need to craft their own sound and explore their acoustic creativity.

With 16 source guitar presets such as dreadnought, 12 string, triple 0, and even upright bass, the AC-3 restores tone lost through acoustic pickups by simulating the sonic characteristics of various guitar shapes and sizes. Each preset allows guitarists to select the instrument of their choice and set the AC-3 to accurately reproduce that sound over any PA or sound system.

For more distinct tone recreation, the AC-3 also includes 15 target guitar presets which can be used to better match a guitar’s model and body shape. For example, when using a Martin D-18 dreadnought, guitarists can choose the Dreadnought source guitar preset and the D-Eighteen target guitar preset to match their instrument.

The AC-3’s effects generator lets guitarists choose from nine effects including Reverb, Delay, and Chorus to craft their sound. There are key features for acoustic guitarists including a high-quality preamp with super-low noise floor, compression, 3-band EQ, and the ability to select piezoelectric or magnetic pickups.

An anti-feedback control eliminates problem frequencies during performances. Additionally, guitarists can use the boost function for adding volume when fingerpicking with a full band or standing out of the mix when solo'ing.

The AC-3’s intuitive, top-down design and automatic tone adjustments let guitarists make easy adjustments for their desired settings. Plus, its compact size is ideal for travel; take it to any venue, rehearsal, or recording session.

The Zoom AC-3 will be available for purchase in July 2017 and the Zoom AC-2 will be available in June.
